This painting is a celebration of the quiet magic found within even the smallest patch of native New Zealand bush. I wanted to capture that feeling of wonder—the way light filters through the canopy, dancing on leaves and bringing everything to life. Among the trees, the ever-cheeky tūī makes its presence known. Their curious, bold energy and melodic calls always seem to follow you, as if they’re watching with mischief, ready to brighten your day. To me, the bush is never silent—it’s full of personality, light, and enchantment.
