Autumn Aurora

Autumn 2023 saw some amazing light shows around New Zealand. I have never seen an Aurora over Mt Taranaki, so many beautiful photos were being posted online. Many dedicated people sitting with their cameras over night to capture such a beautiful sight. I didn't have my camera out - I didn't even know it was a thing here!

As soon as I saw these images I had to paint my version of the Aurora. Capturing the magic and joy glowing over the Mountain. So many beautiful colours in the darkness of night. The sky, the landscape all glow a little different than they do under the daytime sun. I find it very peaceful, relaxing and always magical.
